Introduction

Our History

Coating Technologies Limited was established in 1979 as Western Chemicals Limited. The company grew rapidly to be a successful surface coating manufacturing company with multi-million dollar sales per annum. A wide variety of high technology paint and chemical products were developed and successfully marketed throughout Australasia.

In 1995 the powder coating and industrial paint manufacturing business was sold. This enabled us to concentrate on more environmentally friendly products based on mostly water based technology. The company was renamed CTL - Coating Technologies Limited.

We now produce a comprehensive range of paints, for exterior and interior use.

Current paid up capital is $500,000.00 and we are totally New Zealand owned and operated.

The scientific background of the owners has enabled the company to be built on a quality culture. Our aim has always been to equal and where possible exceed the established standards in New Zealand. Our ISO 9001 accreditation is proof of the commitment.

Management's Philosophy

CTL strives for innovation, diversity and excellence in whatever it does. The working directors are also well aware of the importance of its quality staff and it is extremely pleasing to realise that some customers have been using our products for 15 years and more.

Product Range

Our quality paints are designed for maximum value and performance. The focus is on water based technology, which is user friendly and kind to the environment. Many of our paints are 100% Acrylic Resin for maximum long term performance inside and out, in the Cotec Paint Range.
We also use Epoxy and Polyurethane technology for those situations where demanding environments are found.

Our main brands are: Cotec, Epotec, Siltec and Aquatec.

Coating Technologies' ability in developing water based paints has resulted in Silicone Resin Emulsion Paints (SREP), which are water shedding paints, known as Siltec. These are ideal for breathing surfaces, such as plaster, render and mud brick (Adobe) surfaces.

Using our water based urethane technology, called Aquatec, we have developed a range of timber finishes for internal and soon, external uses.

Epotec, swimming pool coating, using epoxy technology is another well known product from Coating Technologies.

Our colour range is very extensive, with some 20,000 colours available. In fact every colour you can imagine, so style and colour are well matched. Your decorating ideas will have no limit.

Coating Technologies produces paint finishes for: roofs, ceilings, walls, doors, floors and swimming pools. We have paints and coatings that offer: smooth, light and medium textures.
In addition our smooth finishes are available in a range of sheen levels: gloss, semi gloss, low sheen, satin and dead flat.
